CZECHTECH WEEK 2019

Will Smith, Ashton Kutcher, Stephen Curry or Marc Benioff were not the only stars attending the TechCrunch Disrupt 2019! Seven Czech companies, which offer state-of-the-art technologies in their fields moved to San Francisco for one week to present their worldwide competitive products to the most tech-savvy and startup-focused audience on the planet.

We kicked-off the week on Monday when we hosted a Czechoslovak get-together with a panel discussion with Czech and Slovak founders and businessmen based in the United States. Our panelists discussed the initial obstacles of doing business across the pond, highlighted the main differences in culture and communication and evaluated their experience from their professional life in the New World.

On Tuesday, we hosted workshops and presentations during which our visiting companies got to know the American way of "surviving" in the startup world and learnt how to attract VC capital, how to give the best pitch, how to find the right contacts and how to create a product that customers will want to buy.

In the evening, CzechInvest hosted the biggest Central and Eastern European event of the year that aimed to promote the region as a community of highly-educated, innovative and worldwide competitive talent, which has not been fully discovered by the Western world yet. Six successful founders on our panel, two moderators and a brilliant key note speech given by a Stanford professor were the pillars of success of this unprecedented event, which, as we believe, will contribute to the flourishing of cooperation among CEE communities.
