SF City Hall Raised the Czech Flag

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, the City Hall of San Francisco raised the Czech national flag on the building of the City Hall.

CzechInvest, Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic, the Bay Area-based branch of the Sokol organization, and many other guests proudly participated in this honorable event.

As a gesture of appreciation, Miro Tenkl, the head of CzechInvest, handed over the traditional Czech crystal vase to the representatives of the city.

On Nov 17 1989 the Velvet Revolution started the liberalization process and of Czechoslovakia from the socialist regime ruled by the USSR. Its the most memorable moment of the Czech modern history.
